In celebration of the National Teachers’ Day which was hosted by DepEd Cebu City, DepEd Region 02, especially SDO Santiago City was privileged enough to have been chosen as the host for the interview of DepEd Region 02’s Regional Director, Dr. Benjamin D. Paragas.
The interview was facilitated by SDO Santiago City’s EPS II Mr. Arcadio L. Modumo centered on the importance of teachers in propelling and championing quality education in the region.
RD Paragas emphasized that the Regional Office always had the teachers in mind in crafting the programs in the Regional Office, in the SDOs and in schools. They are, as Dr. Paragas pointed out, the strongest partners in pushing forward the basic education agenda.
As a strong message of support and commendation to all the teachers who are in the forefront of DepEd’s quest for continuity of education for all learners, RD Paragas accentuated:
“We owe our teachers a lot. They deserve this celebration and recognition. This is also an opportune time for every teacher out there to reflect and further deepen their commitment and dedication in the task at hand. We recognize the difficulty we are facing right now which has not spared anybody, that is why all the more we put premium on teacher’s safety and well-being while altogether we are performing our roles.”
